Course Overview:
Food hygiene refers to the measures and conditions necessary to control hazards and ensure food is safe for human consumption. This includes proper food storage, maintaining clean environments, washing hands before handling food, and ensuring that dishes are clean and free of contaminants.
This course aims to enable participants to prepare food safely and maintain proper food hygiene practices in the workplace.
By the end of the session, participants will be able to:
• Describe the legal requirements regarding food hygiene and safety.
• Explain the consequences of poor food hygiene practices in the workplace.
• Recognise the causes of food poisoning.
• Identify the symptoms of food poisoning.
• Understand food allergies and their management.
• Emphasise the importance of good personal hygiene.
• Understand the importance of correct food handling and preparation practices at work.
