Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work

Course Overview:
The iCQ Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (QCF) is designed to develop the first aid knowledge and skills of learners who are required to provide emergency first aid to employees injured or taken ill at work in line with the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.

The qualification will benefit all who need to be introduced to emergency first aid in the workplace and those who require requalification training in emergency first aid in the workplace.

In line with guidance provided by the HSE, the qualification supports/approves workplace first aiders for a period of 3 years, after which point, learners will need to retake the course. Therefore, the qualification is valid for three years from the date of award. In addition to this, it is recommended that learners refresh their knowledge annually.

Entry Requirements: You don’t need any formal qualifications to enrol on this course. Learners will need to produce full and articulate answers to questions. Learners will need to have a good standard of written and verbal communication skills.

    • Achieve a nationally recognised Level 2 qualification

  • Assessment method

    The qualification will be assessed by a portfolio of evidence. Your personal assessor will conduct a meeting via Teams or as part of blended learning to review and develop your progress towards the qualification.

    Learners should be able to demonstrate the practical administration of safe, prompt, effective first aid in emergency situations with an understanding of the role of first aider
