Course Overview:
This qualification is for those who wish to develop knowledge and understanding of dementia care and how to support people with dementia and their families. The aim is to develop the knowledge and skills required when providing positive care for people with dementia and their families. The qualification provides an awareness of the causes and symptoms of dementia.
This is it suitable for anyone who wants to work in Social Care in either local authority or private care environments. It is also suitable for qualified practitioners who have not covered dementia care in previous qualifications.

Assessment method
The qualification will be assessed by a portfolio of evidence. Your personal assessor will conduct monthly meetings via Teams to review and develop your progress towards the qualification.
All assessments need to be passed, and each will directly assess the knowledge, skills and behaviours of the qualification
