The iCQ Level 1 Award in Introduction to Employment in the Hospitality Industry (RQF) is designed to give learners an initial understanding of the hospitality sector and the wide range of job roles available. It introduces the skills, behaviours, and knowledge needed to start a career in hospitality and helps learners prepare for entry-level employment or further study. | This qualification is ideal for individuals with little or no prior experience of hospitality who want to build confidence and gain a recognised award that supports employability. Learners will explore the structure of the hospitality industry, customer service principles, and the expectations of working in hospitality settings.
Learners will complete units totalling 6 credits. Example units include: | - Introduction to the Hospitality Industry | - Customer Service in Hospitality, Leisure, Travel and Tourism | - Teamwork in Hospitality Settings | - Health and Safety Awareness in Hospitality and Catering | - Food and Beverage Service Skills (Introductory) | - Communication Skills for the Hospitality Industry | These units provide learners with a broad foundation in hospitality knowledge and employability skills.
The qualification will be assessed by a portfolio of evidence. Your personal assessor will conduct monthly meetings via Teams to review and develop your progress towards the qualification. | All assessments need to be passed, and each will directly assess the knowledge, skills and behaviours of the qualification.
