Overview

A qualification that provides the basic skills and knowledge needed to respond to emergency situations in the workplace. It covers essential first aid techniques such as CPR, dealing with choking, bleeding, shock, and minor injuries. The course is suitable for individuals who have been nominated as workplace first aiders or anyone who wants to gain the confidence and ability to provide immediate assistance in an emergency.

Units & Modules

Covers knowledge such as the roles and responsibilities of the first aider: | |  how to assess an incident and recognising signs and symptoms of injury and illness. |  first aid skills in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) |  assisting a casualty who is suffering from major injury and illness such as chest injuries, spinal injuries, and anaphylaxis.

Assessment

The qualification will be assessed by a portfolio of evidence. Your personal assessor will conduct monthly meetings via Teams to review and develop your progress towards the qualification. | All assessments need to be passed, and each will directly assess the knowledge, skills and behaviours of the qualification.
