iCQ Level 2 Certificate in the Principles of Infection Control

Overview

A qualification that provides knowledge of how infections spread and the measures used to prevent and control them. It covers topics such as hygiene practices, cleaning procedures, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to reduce the risk of infection. The course is suitable for individuals working, or planning to work, in health, social care, or other environments where infection prevention and control are important.

Units & Modules

 the meaning and importance of infection control |  the causes of infections, the conditions in which they thrive, and the ways that they can be spread |  the methods used to prevent and control the spread of infection.

Assessment

The qualification will be assessed by a portfolio of evidence. Your personal assessor will conduct monthly meetings via Teams to review and develop your progress towards the qualification. | All assessments need to be passed, and each will directly assess the knowledge, skills and behaviours of the qualification.
