A qualification that provides the knowledge and practical skills required to respond to a range of first aid situations in the workplace. It covers topics such as CPR, managing injuries and illnesses, dealing with emergencies, and maintaining a safe response until professional help arrives. The course is suitable for individuals who are designated workplace first aiders or anyone who needs comprehensive first aid training as part of their role.
Covers knowledge such as the roles and responsibilities of the first aider: | | how to assess an incident and recognising signs and symptoms of injury and illness. | first aid skills in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) | assisting a casualty who is suffering from major injury and illness such as chest injuries, spinal injuries, and anaphylaxis.
The qualification will be assessed by a portfolio of evidence. Your personal assessor will conduct monthly meetings via Teams to review and develop your progress towards the qualification. | All assessments need to be passed, and each will directly assess the knowledge, skills and behaviours of the qualification.
