This is an entry-level qualification that introduces the basic knowledge and understanding needed to work in health, social care, and children’s or early years settings. It covers topics such as roles in the sector, communication, safeguarding, equality, and health and safety. The course is designed for people (typically aged 16+) who are new to the sector or considering a career in care and want a foundation before progressing to higher-level qualifications.

The qualification will be assessed by a portfolio of evidence. Your personal assessor will conduct monthly meetings via Teams to review and develop your progress towards the qualification. | All assessments need to be passed, and each will directly assess the knowledge, skills and behaviours of the qualification.
